S4J Holds a STEM@Work Event

Students from Island Coast HS and North Fort Myers HS visited S4J Mfg for a STEM@Work Day on February 25, 2016. The students learned about manufacturing and the myriad of STEM related fields that are involved. IMG_1334


Doug Gyure, VP/CEO, explains the machining process-from CAD drawings, to machine coding, to the actual production of the parts.



Students learned about the chemistry behind the “electroless nickel” plating process used to finish brass products at S4J Manufacturing.

 Troy Smith, Product Integrity Manager at S4J, explains quality control at the company. Using the Vertex, Troy shows a spider under high magnification!
